If you haven’t yet, snag your tickets for Denver Summit FC’s first home game. 45,000 of your friends already grabbed tickets – it’s going to be the biggest single-game NWSL attended to date, so obviously you don’t want to miss it. ⚽

🚧 Alameda Ave Back On The OG Plan

The highly controversial Alameda Avenue safety project is now reverting back to the original plan (temporarily, and for just a small section). Before construction was set to begin in 2025, some residents successfully paused the project citing concern about losing a full lane for cars, but now it’s back on. Presented as a demonstration, DOTI will track the impact of the scaled-down project on various safety measures. [Denverite]

💸 Cobalt Abortion Fund Is Hard At Work

Cobalt Abortion Fund helped fund almost 4,000 abortion procedures last year. And while it is the state’s largest independent abortion fund, patients Cobalt funded were from out of state – highlighting not only the narrowing access to reproductive care for people in neighboring states, but also the need for financial assistance to cover travel and other expenses beyond the medical procedure. Why Palantir Dumped Denver, Yet Another New Plan for Alameda Ave., and Leven Supply Seized

💻 Why Did a Massive AI Company Really Leave Colorado?

Earlier this week, Palantir packed up and moved out of Colorado – the surveillance tech giant’s abrupt departure to Florida was announced with just a single tweet and zero explanation. Was it ongoing protests outside its Denver headquarters, pressure from politicans, Colorado’s soon-to-be enacted AI law, or something else that influenced Palantir to say goodbye to the Centennial State? 🚌 Naming Drama at the Civic Center Station

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) recently renamed the Civic Center Station after Rev. Wade Blank, heralded for his work in the disability activism space. But the name change caused backlash, including from Blank’s own family, who criticised RTD for increasing the cost of Access-on-Demand, a service often used by riders with disabilities. Critics were also frustrated by the cancellation of the ceremony for the renaming, implying it was mostly a publicity stunt. [Denverite]
