👀 Is Trump Planning a Border Patrol Takeover?

The director of ICE’s Denver field office has apparently been removed from his position and reassigned. Directors in four other U.S. cities were also reassigned. According to anonymous sources who are “familiar with the plan,” the move is reportedly part of the Trump administration’s actions to quietly plant senior Border Patrol agents in ICE offices across the country — but no officials have formally confirmed the personnel changes. • Other ICE activity: Protests in Durango are growing violent as community members rally to have a man and his two children — with a pending asylum case — released from detention. In Parker, a fifth-grade teacher and her family have been detained by ICE despite having valid work authorization through 2029.

📹 Mayor Johnston Feels the Heat Over Flock

In an interview with 9News last week, Mayor Mike Johnston said Flock surveillance cameras helped solve the highly publicized murder of local transgender hairstylist Jax Gratton. In reality, the case remains under investigation. Gratton’s mother said the false claim was Johnston’s attempt to bolster his own narrative in the Flock debate. The Mayor’s Office — though not the mayor personally — has since issued an apology for the misstatement. [9News]

🪧 Casa Bonita Actors on Strike

Starting today at 11 a.m. there will be a picket line outside the Pink Palace as Casa Bonita performers enter a three-day strike. A press release from Actors’ Equity Association announcing the strike said management “walked away from the table without responding.” [Actors Equity Association]

  • More context: The union filed an unfair labor complaint last month after management cut performers’ hours for a Halloween “activation.” Now, the union says, “‘Casa Boo-Nita’ will be dressed as an empty pink building for Halloween!” [Denver Post 🔒]
