Where Is It?

Last week’s answer: You can catch a glimpse of these mysterious doors while waiting for your ride at Union Station’s underground bus boarding area.

Before the transit hub’s massive 2012 renovation, this subterranean bus lane was an underground pedestrian tunnel connecting Wynkoop and Wewatta streets. And before that, it was a below ground boarding area for passenger trains throughout the 1900s — these doors were the train platforms.

“With platform signs still emblazoned with the names of trains that have long since steamed away for good, it's a living reminder of Union Station's golden years as the gateway to the city,” Westword’s Joel Warner wrote of the tunnel in 2011. Today, the now-defunct doors are merely a relic of the station’s storied history.

Q - Is Summer the best time to sell my house?

-Robert K.

A: Many think summer is best for selling, but in Denver, it’s not always true. More sellers list then, creating more competition—while buyers are often camping, traveling, and enjoying Colorado summers. If summer fits your timing, focus on pricing and presentation. A well-prepped, well-priced home can still shine.
