🏠 City Considers New Approach to Derelict Buildings
City Council is planning to vote on changes to the process of dealing with buildings that are neglected. Currently, a decrepit property requires a formal hearing to address complaints, but the new process would create an immediate plan between the city and a structure’s owner to tackle issues. The changes would also increase daily fines from $999 to $5,000. [Westword]
🪧 More Anti-Trump Protests Planned
Protestors were out in the streets this week in solidarity with anti-ICE protests happening in LA. While only 18 people were arrested out of thousands, the metro area is again gearing up for more as “No Kings” rallies against President Trump are planned for Saturday. Will protestors — and police — keep it peaceful? [City Cast Denver 🎧]
🚨 Warrant Out For Aurora Apartment Manager
Zev Baumgarten, the owner of CBZ Management, which managed apartment buildings in Aurora allegedly linked to Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, did not appear at a court hearing on Wednesday. It’s at least the second warrant issued this year for Baumgarten for skipping hearings related to code violations at his buildings. [Denver Post 🔒]

Navigating Denver Real Estate

— Bree Davies, City Cast Denver podcast host
