What's CITY Talking About?
🎢 Riders Temporarily Stuck On Elitch Gardens’ Attraction
About 40 people were stranded 20 feet in the air for almost an hour on the Star Flyer ride on Saturday. The ride operator was eventually able to get passengers down safely and park officials evaluated the 17-story tower attraction. No one was injured. [Fox 31]

💸 Trump Admin Pulls $24M Back From Denver
In a letter citing President Trump's effort to crack down on immigration, FEMA informed the City of Denver earlier this month that it would not be sending $24 million in previously promised funds. City officials revealed the letter during a budget meeting on Monday. They had been planning to use the money to offset the costs of sheltering the influx of newcomers from Central and South America between 2022 and 2024. [Denver Post 🔒]
- More cuts coming? Trump signed an executive order on Monday threatening more budget cuts to "sanctuary" jurisdictions, presumably including Denver.
🏳️⚧️ Why Supporters Are Backing Down On Trans Rights Bill
A bill solidifying trans rights in Colorado was expected to breeze through the state legislature this session. But House Bill 1312 was stopped in its tracks last week as prominent supporters within the LGBTQ+ community became divided, leaving the legislation’s future uncertain. [City Cast Denver 🎧]
