💩 Does Denver have a dog poop problem?
April 14, 2025 · — McKenna Harford
Good morning, Denver! Keep an eye out for Mayor Mike Johnston waiting tables, serving drinks, and slinging ice cream at Bourbon Grill, The 99ers Sports Bar, and Colfax and Cream 💁 (a plan he first announced on City Cast 😉)
What's CITY Talking About?
🏛️ Sen. Michael Bennet To Run for Governor
Bennet joins Attorney General Phil Weiser in the race to replace Gov. Jared Polis, who is term-limited. Should Bennet win, he said he would choose his own successor in Congress, with speculation that he could select from Colorado Reps. Joe Neguse, Brittany Pettersen, and Jason Crow. [Colorado Sun]
👎 Has The Downtown Experience Gotten Worse?
In a recent survey, only 55% of downtown visitors reported having a “great experience,” which is down from more than 70% in 2023. Survey analysts attributed the drop to more people feeling unsafe, construction projects impeding navigation, and vacant retail space. [Denver Post 🔒]
🛴 Lime Will Restrict Free Rides Program
Last year, almost half of the rides on Lime bikes and scooters were free, thanks to a program that gives unlimited free trips to people on Medicaid and SNAP. Now, Lime is scaling back the program to just three rides per day with a 30-minute limit each. [Westword]
