What's CITY Talking About?

🏢 Former Cap Hill Bar to Become Apartments
The former LowDown Brewery in Capitol Hill will be demolished to make room for an 18-story apartment building. Situated at the corner of 8th Ave. and Lincoln St., the building will include ground floor retail and 295 luxury and market rate units, but no affordable housing – the plans were submitted before Denver’s affordability requirements went into effect. 🤖 AI Used in Vibrant Denver Logo
When the city rolled out its campaign for Vibrant Denver – a metro area improvement bond that Denverites will vote on in November – it was revealed that AI was used to create a generic city skyline. The logo has since been redesigned by an actual human graphic designer and features a new skyline design that looks much more true to reality. [Denverite]

🏠 Some Colorado Condos Appear On a “Secret Mortgage Blacklist”
Colorado condos are being blacklisted from the real estate market because of high property insurance deductibles that make it impossible for buyers to get a loan. The issue is nationwide, but Colorado is home to the third highest number of these condos, which have been found via investigative reporting from the Wall Street Journal on what it calls a “secret mortgage blacklist.” [Colorado Sun; 🔒Wall Street Journal]
