What's CITY Talking About?

🔎 What Actually Happens During an ICE Raid?
ICE raids played out across the Denver metro last week, leaving families separated and communities feeling disoriented and unnerved. Local media worked frantically to chase the story and parse out exactly what was going down. In the aftermath, we asked one local reporter who's been on the beat to break down what really goes on during an ICE raid. [City Cast Denver 🎧]

🚨 Are Immigration Activists in Danger of Arrest?
During last week’s raids, local immigration activists showed up to blare “Know Your Rights” information through loudspeakers. While protesters were merely exercising their right to free speech, President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan wants to see them punished for impeding police action. [Denverite]
- What about the journalists? Homan also suggested implementing a “media ban” on ICE operations, alleging that local news outlets tipped off the protesters about the raids ahead of time. Activists adamantly deny that claim, according to a fact check by the Aurora Sentinel, insisting that they’ve been preparing for raids for months.
- Have more questions? We know there’s a lot of confusion and uncertainty swirling around these ICE encounters, from how to feel prepared for one to what to do if you’re in the middle of one. We want to help answer those questions 👇
🎢 Elitch Gardens Will Remain Downtown This Summer
Though very real discussions about relocating the popular Denver amusement park to make way for redevelopment have been taking place for years, park officials have confirmed Elitch Gardens will remain at its current downtown location for the 2025 season. Where or even when the park might move is still unknown. [Denver Business Journal 🔒]
