What's CITY Talking About?

🇺🇸 Trump Promises to Launch ‘Operation Aurora’
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Aurora on Friday drew some 10,000 supporters to the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center, as well as protestors. In his speech, Trump maintained false claims of violent gang takeovers in the city. He promised if reelected to launch “Operation Aurora,” a concerted effort to “hunt down, arrest, and deport every last illegal alien gang member” in Aurora and across the country. [Fox31]

🔎 Animal Activists Allege More Than Cruelty at Superior Farms
A group of animal rights activists has released video footage that they claim shows illegal treatment of animals inside Superior Farms. The factory is Denver’s only slaughterhouse and the sole target of a controversial upcoming ballot measure to ban slaughterhouses in the city. [Axios Denver]

🚔 Is Crime On East Colfax Really That Bad?
Last week, Cap Hill residents were disheartened to hear the neighborhood's Natural Grocers was closing due to crime and theft in and around the store — something that Denver Police data can backup. So far in 2024, DPD has received 78 calls to the store. In all of 2023, they received just 15. [Denverite]
