Danny Newman, local savior of old buildings, is at it again with his most recent $1.4 million purchase of a 114-year-old church in North Cap Hill. Newman’s repertoire of preserved historic local structures includes My Brother’s Bar, Mercury Cafe, and the top five floors of the D&F Clock Tower. [Business Den 🔒]

📉 Are Denver’s Crime Rates Improving? Kinda.
Good news: Homicide rates in Denver have dipped compared to the same time period last year. Bad news: They’re still 28% higher than they were in 2019. Similarly, car thefts are down 30% from 2023, but remain a staggering 77% higher than their pre-pandemic levels. [Axios Denver]
- What’s to be done? Mayor Johnston is promising to turn the ship around and make Denver the “safest big city in America.”
