June 28, 2024 · — Peyton Garcia

Happy Friday, everyone! I’m working on something really fun that I’m getting ready to unveil. I think you’re gonna love it 🤩 Check out today’s Where Is It? segment for a few more deets 👇

What's CITY Talking About?

👽 Colorado Gets Its Own ‘Mystery Monolith’

The strange and unexpected arrival of a tall, shiny monolith on a dairy farm in Larimer County has attracted crowds of curious onlookers. Standing at 8 feet tall, 4 feet wide, and extremely heavy, the property owner has no idea where the object came from. [Denver Post 🔒]

  • Get your tin foil hat: Since 2020, similar monoliths have been appearing in places as far flung as Utah, California, and Romania before disappearing just as suddenly.
Considering where it is on the top of that hill … if anybody had an easy time getting it there it would be the aliens.

📜 Displaced Aurarians Finally Get Their Say

For 50 years the Denverites who were once displaced from their neighborhood to make room for the Auraria Higher Education Center have been fighting to have a say in the future development of the area. Now, thanks to a new resolution passed to create the Auraria Historic Corridor, they will finally have that opportunity. [Denver Post 🔒]

🩻 An Election Post-Mortem

After big primary losses for the Colorado GOP, it appears the party’s own candidate endorsements may have not been the best choice. Meanwhile, progressive incumbents losing seats could signal a bigger shift toward the center for the state’s Democratic party. [City Cast Denver 🎧]
