What's CITY Talking About?

🏗️ 16th Street Mall Construction Drags On
When the City of Denver set out on a $170 million project to overhaul downtown’s 16th Street Mall two years ago, they hoped for a completion date at the end of 2024 — but current projections now put that goal post sometime mid-2025. The city’s project dashboard reports work is about 61% done. [CO Sun]

🏳️🌈 Anti-War Protests Collide with Denver Pride
Local pro-Palestine protesters showed up to Pride festivities this weekend to declare their cause. About 200 demonstrators marched alongside the Pride Parade all the way to PrideFest at Civic Center Park, where they took to the festival’s main stage. Witnesses report interactions between protesters and Pride attendees were mostly civil and supportive. [CPR]
