⚖️ Trump Barred From Colorado Ballot
In a first-of-its-kind ruling, the Colorado Supreme Court has concluded that former President Donald Trump will not be allowed to appear on the state’s 2024 primary election ballot. In a 4-3 vote, the majority of justices agreed that Trump’s participation in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol was a violation of the 14th Amendment’s Disqualification Clause, barring him from seeking the presidency. The Trump campaign plans to file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court. [CPR]
🐺 Wolves Return to Colorado
Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials released five wolves (captured from Oregon) into Grand County wilderness on Monday. The release was part of an unprecedented reintroduction plan for the species that has been years in the making. CPW hopes to release up to 50 more over the next 3-5 years. The plan was passed by voters in 2020 by a narrow margin of 51% to 49% and remains a major sticking point between the state’s rural and urban residents. [Denver Post 🔒]
