What's CITY Talking About?

💰 City Council Pools Money for Migrants

Hundreds of migrants seeking asylum continue to arrive in Denver every week. While Mayor Mike Johnston pushes for more support from the White House, Denver City Council members are looking for extra cash in their own office budgets to get migrant children off the streets. [Denverite]

⚖️ New Charges Filed in Christian Glass Case

Six more law enforcement officers have been criminally charged with a “failure to intervene” in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Christian Glass last summer. Additionally, a former Clear Creek County sheriff’s sergeant involved with the incident pleaded guilty to the same charge and is facing a fine, probation, and a forfeiture of his career in law enforcement. What If There Was a Museum of Denver?

If there was a Museum of Denver, who — or what — would go in it? Many cities have museums dedicated to their history and culture, and there’s been some serious talk about the Mile High City getting one of its own. Today on the City Cast Denver podcast, host Bree Davies and producer Paul Karolyi sit down with Westword editor and founder Patty Calhoun (who’s been writing about Denver since 1977) to imagine their perfect version of our own city museum.

That’s all for today! Talk to you turkeys tomorrow 🦃
