What's CITY Talking About?

🏆 Who Should Be in Our Colfax Hall of Fame?

Mark your calendars! On July 20, City Cast Denver is getting together in person with some other really cool people to celebrate all things Colfax — and we’d love for YOU to join us! Stay tuned for more details on the big bash, but until then, we want your help: If there was a Colfax Hall of Fame, what person, place, or thing would you like to see commemorated? Let us know your nomination!

⚖️ SCOTUS Ruling a Major Loss for LGBTQ Community

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 6-3 to grant public-serving “creative or expressive” businesses the “constitutional right to refuse to serve members of a protected class,” overruling Colorado’s anti-discrimination laws. This ruling stems from the case of a local Christian web designer who said she should not have to make wedding websites for same-sex couples. [CPR]

  • 👀 Two more major SCOTUS rulings:

    1) Colleges and universities can no longer consider race in their admission decisions — a ruling that critics say negates affirmative action. [CO Sun]

    2) President Biden will not be wiping away student debt for millions of Americans as promised. [Denver Post 🔒]
