🤑 A fat check is coming your way!

June 22, 2023

Good morning, Denver! I’m headed to the airport this weekend and am glad to know ahead of time that TSA is having issues with Colorado driver’s licenses 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🛫

What's CITY Talking About?

💰 You Can Expect Another Fat TABOR Refund

Next year, Coloradans can once again expect a big check in the mail courtesy of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (or TABOR). Economists predict the state government’s 2022-23 revenue surplus will be even larger than last year’s (which saw taxpayers getting $750 checks). But how much each person will get this time will depend on Proposition HH, which will be on the ballot in November. If approved by voters, taxpayers will all get the same amount again. If rejected, the size of your TABOR rebate will depend on your income. [Axios Denver]

⛳ Park Hill Golf Course Will Remain a Golf Course … for Now

After voters decided back in April that the owners of the Park Hill Golf Course would not be allowed to develop the land, they are now working on a plan to revert it back to a fee-based, 18-hole golf course. City Council approved the necessary rezoning on Monday night. However, those in favor of turning the space into a park say they plan to continue their fight and will appeal to the newly elected City Council when it takes office. [Denverite]

🌮 Casa Bonita is Taking Reservations!

Yesterday, Casa Bonita announced to its email subscribers that it was accepting a limited amount of ticketed dinner reservations for this weekend and next. Tickets are $39.99 for adults, $24.99 for kids ages 3-12, and include a 15% service charge. Select groups of the restaurant’s email subscribers have recently been invited in during this “beta-testing” period, but a reopening date for the general public has still not been announced.
