🛁 Colfax won’t lose its iconic bathhouse

🛁 Lake Steam Baths Will NOT Become a Car Wash

Based on concept plans submitted to the city, the iconic Colfax bathhouse will not be turned into a car wash (as previously feared) or replaced at all for that matter. Instead, the current proposal shows plans for a five-story, 58-unit boutique hotel on top of the bathhouse, which will become an amenity for hotel guests. Also according to the concept plans, the new owners intend to preserve the landmark’s facade and historic signage. [Denverite]

🚔 Police in Schools Still Up for Debate

In the first draft of his new school safety plan unveiled last month, DPS superintendent Alex Marrero suggested giving principals the authority to decide for themselves if they want armed officers on their campuses. In his second draft of the plan released last week however, he’s instead proposing the school board makes a district-wide policy. A final version of the plan is expected by June 30. [Chalkbeat]
